    Volunteer Work Day- Park Rx

    Kids Discover: Bald Eagles (ages 5-10)

    Bald Eagles are beautiful, powerful birds of prey! During this program we will explore the world of bald eagles, discover their “super” powers and conduct an experiment to see why eagles can soar for hours! Join a Naturalist as we honor our Nation’s 250th birthday with a closer look at our National Bird. This program is a part of the America250 Dauphin County Celebration. Registrants must be accompanied by a chaperone for the duration of the program. A maximum of one chaperone per child is permitted. Space is limited. Pre-registration required.

    Our Ancient Sycamore Tree

    Celebrate America’s 250th birthday by meeting a tree that is older than our Country. Join a Naturalist along the East Shore Trail, one of Wildwood’s less-traveled trails. Participants will hike approximately half a mile into the trail where a Naturalist will reveal this American Sycamore’s age.

    Join volunteer Jane Earle to view fragrant water lilies, yarrow, common milkweed and two species of native roses. Meet at the North Parking Lot. Learn how some flowers were named and used by early settlers and Native Americans.
