Amber Alert
The Amber Alert plan was developed as a method of alerting citizens when a child has been abducted. For Amber Alert to be activated the child abducted must be under 18 years of age and believed to be in imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury. Additional factors including descriptive information, time elapsed since the child had last been seen and the reliability of witnesses are taken into consideration when determining whether to issue an alert.
If you believe that your child has been abducted you should immediately contact your local law enforcement agency or dial 911. They will contact the Pennsylvania State Police who will assess the information and determine whether an Amber Alert is warranted.
