Overview:

Through a long-term lease with the Borough of Lykens, the County maintains and operates this beautiful 51-acre area of steep mountain slopes and the tumbling Rattling Creek. Get out and explore this beautiful park.

Facility & Guidelines:

Two picnic pavilions, a sand volleyball court, a playground, a creek sidewalk, and scattered benches make this park an oasis of Central Pennsylvania beauty and a favorite to witness fall colors.

StoryWalk®

Dauphin County Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Penn State Health, has opened a StoryWalk at Detweiler Park. Made possible through the Penn State Health Community Relations Grant Program, the StoryWalk will be open year-round and books displayed will change with the seasons. This ongoing, free program will engage kids of all ages with interactive prompts while spending time outdoors in nature.
