Human Services Development Fund
The Human Services Development Fund (HSDF) provides counties with funds to deliver locally identified services to meet the human services needs of citizens. The funds must be used to provide social services and service coordination in the following areas:
- Adults with low-income
- Persons at-risk of homelessness or currently experiencing homelessness
- Older adults
- Individuals affected by substance use disorders
- Persons with mental health concerns
- Persons with intellectual disabilities
- Dependent and delinquent children
Providers funded by HSDF in the fiscal year 2022/2023 include:
- Capital Area Coalition on Homelessness (CACH) – Coordination of services and funding for homeless services ($1,000)
- Contact Helpline – 24 hours per day, 7 days per week information/referral and listening services ($8,000)
- Christian Churches United – Emergency case management services ($65,000)
- Shalom House – Case management and shelter services for women experiencing homelessness and their children ($4,000)
- International Service Center – Interpretation and document translation services ($4,000)
- Central Pennsylvania Food Bank - Food Pantry in the Northern Dauphin Human Services Center ($90,000)
- The Housing Authority of the County of Dauphin- Coordination to assist low-income families with obtaining affordable housing ($60,000)
