Registration Opens - Saturday, March 1 Join Wildwood Park for the 6th annual Run Wild for Wildwood 5K & 10K. This scenic run/walk will take you on the Wildwood Way Trail around the lake and the Towpath Trail along the Pennsylvania Canal! Bring your friends and family to show your support for Wildwood Park and the community. Registration will open on March 1, 2025 for this event.

Join Penn State Master Gardeners for a leisurely stroll to learn about one of Harrisburg’s Best-Kept Secrets - The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. learn about some of the many perennials, shrubs, and trees in the Park. Gather inspiration for your garden and gain unique information about this local Park, by learning to identify these plants, some of their pollinators, other insects or diseases, and soil or location preferences.

Join a Dauphin County Library System Librarian and Wildwood Environmental Educator for a fun outdoor story session for children ages 2-5. Stories, songs, rhymes, play and an activity will introduce Wildwood critters and the joy of books and language to youngsters. This program is sponsored by Altrusa of South Central PA, providing a book for each participant.

Explore the Fort Hunter Mansion in a whole new way! Children will help their “Aunt Helen” prepare to host a party by completing small tasks throughout the tour while the adults learn a little history about the stately home. This brief tour is perfect for families with small children that aren’t quite ready for our 45-minute family tour.

Join Volunteers Rick and Peggy Price for this early September evening walk. The walk will begin at the South Lot and continue down the Towpath Trail.

Join us for the 18th Annual Dauphin County Jazz & Wine Festival sponsored by PA Housing and Finance Agency at beautiful Fort Hunter Park as we welcome national bands, wine tasting by PA wineries & more! This year’s entertainers include: Eric Darius, Urban Guerilla Orchestra, Jeff Bradshaw, Art Sherrod, Jr., Lin Rountree, Andrew Neu, Althea Rene and Kofi B. Tickets are valid for BOTH days of the festival and for all performances.

The walk location has a mixture of both flat and elevated terrain. The full walk is estimated to take 1-hour based on the pace of the walkers. This is a FREE walk, but we ask that you pre-register. In this 2-hour introduction to the Work That Reconnects, instructor Justin Ferko will guide you through the Three Stories of Our Time and offer experiences with the Work That Reconnects Spiral, a mode of moving with and through eco-grief and/or any other social justice issue that is of concern for you in this time. Sound Meditations encourage deep listening practices which can create an ideal entry point for a meditative experience, particularly for anyone who has struggled to embrace more traditional forms of meditation.This experience creates space for deep relaxation, calming of the mind, and empowering positive change within oneself.
