    Join volunteer Jane Earle for a fall tree walk to view the leaves in their full color and learn how to identify them. Meet in front of the Nature Center. This program is part of the Park Rx series of programs sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield. Space is limited. Pre-registration required.

It explores practical, real-world ways to build trust, foster connection, and create a stronger sense of belonging in both personal and professional spaces, showing that even simple interactions can add to lasting community impact.

    Weekly Wellness Walk – Park Rx

    Every Tuesday (weather permitting), enjoy a moderately-paced walk around Wildwood Lake while enjoying the trees and animals at the park.
  • Seasonal Garden Walks

    Join Master Gardener Kevin Kelly for a guided walk through the Nature Center’s Garden Beds. Each walk will highlight what’s in bloom, along with shrubs, foliage, structure and other seasonal features that give the garden interest and support wildlife.

  • McAllister Family Cemetery Tour

    Visitors will begin their visit at Fort Hunter Mansion to learn about the McAllister family that first lived in the historic home. After a brief intermission, guests will then take a 40-minute round-trip walk to the McAllister Family Cemetery to learn more about the extended family and their final resting place.
  • Night at the Nature Center

    Take an after-hours walk through the Olewine Nature Center and watch the Exhibit Hall critters come to life! Kids will meet these fun talking animals and visit other stations including a campfire to make s’mores, sip apple cider, a craft, and a not so scary Halloween story.
