    Trick or Treat Trek

    Calling all ghosts and ghouls! Come in costume to Fort Hunter Park for the Trick or Treat Trek. Follow the clues to keep your search on track. Your reward? Goodies at each stop along the way! This adventure is for those age 12 & younger. Trick or Treat Trek is sponsored by The Hershey Company and Aetna and presented in collaboration with Dauphin County Department of Drug and Alcohol Services. This is a rain-or-shine event. Pre-registration is required to participate.

    Weekly Wellness Walk – Park Rx

    Every Tuesday (weather permitting), enjoy a moderately-paced walk around Wildwood Lake while enjoying the trees and animals at the park.

    Join a Naturalist for a leisurely walk at Detweiler Park with a focus on trees and their fall foliage. Become familiar with a variety of common species.
  • The Cat in the Hat Learning Series

    Join a Naturalist for fun interactive story session for children ages 3-5. Stories, rhymes, and a craft/activity will introduce science through the eyes of the Cat in the Hat. Classes are offered during 4 consecutive Thursdays starting on October 8th.
  • Birdhouse Gourd Workshop

    Please join the Friends of Wildwood for a “not-so-spooky” morning of Birdhouse Gourd Construction and Design. Bring your friends and your creativity along to paint a small gourd and a birdhouse gourd and design your own wooden songbird ornament.

    Fall fruits are not just a favorite of squirrels and chipmunks! There are a few humans can enjoy as well. Take a walk with a Naturalist along the Towpath Trail to view and taste these curious fall fruits known as persimmons.

    Curious about edible plants and how to utilize them to create yummy fall recipes? Join Naturalists at Wildwood Park to learn how to cook with a variety of fall fruits and nuts. Samples of each edible treat will be provided. Space is limited. Pre-registration required.

    Walk with a Doc - Logan Farm Park - Park Rx

    Join us for some fresh air and time outdoors for a walk at the Logan Farm Park in Susquehanna Township! The Walk With A Doc program is designed to provide some general health information and a moderately-paced walk. This is a FREE walk, but we ask that you pre-register.
  • Cadette Girl Scouts: Night Owl

    Night has captured human imagination since the dawn of time. Join us as day turns to night to fulfill requirements for the Cadette Night Owl badge. Scouts will explore Wildwood, discover the myths of the stars and moon and learn about adaptations of nocturnal animals.
